Your First Visit: Your first visit will take approximately one hour, this allows time to get a thorough understanding of your current condition, perform an exam, take x-rays and begin treatment. Please keep this in mind when scheduling your first appointment.
Before you arrive: Upon scheduling a new patient appointment; you will be directed to the “forms” section of our website. Here you will find the majority of the paperwork that is required for your first appointment. Please feel free to print and fill out the necessary forms in order to cut down your time in the waiting room. If you are unable to print out the forms, no need to worry, copies will be provided to you upon your arrival.
Consultation: This portion of the visit consists of a one-on-one consultation with either Dr. Blomberg or a member of her staff. We will go over a variety of issues, including current and past health history and any goals you would like to achieve with your health. If you are a good candidate for chiropractic care, a thorough examination will follow.
Exam: Dr. Blomberg or a member of her staff will do a full exam to help determine the best treatment plan to fit your needs.
X-Rays: If you have had x-rays of your spine taken within the last two years, please provide us with the name and telephone number of the facility at which they were taken so that we can have them sent to us for review. If you do not have current x-rays, a set will be taken. We have state of the art x-ray equipment on-site and your x-rays will be developed and evaluated by Dr. Blomberg during your first visit. If needed, Dr. Blomberg will send the X-rays off-site to be read by a chiropractic radiologist.
Review of findings: We will gather all pertinent information and present a clear, concise diagnosis and propose a treatment plan to reach your goals.
Treatment: At this point, Dr. Blomberg will have gained a complete understanding of your condition and will provide treatment during your first visit to begin promoting relief and healing. Dr. Blomberg may use a combination of multiple therapies such as electrical muscle stimulation, low level laser light therapy, manual trigger point therapy, and manual adjustments.
Home Care: Dr. Blomberg may suggest a variety of things that you can do after your visit to continue your treatment in between office visits. This may include nutritional aids, stretches, or icing, to name a few. It is important to follow these suggestions to increase the benefits of chiropractic care and optimize your health. |
